Why would the rapist be obligated to marry the victim if it was not so?

That is a complete non-sequitur. Are you saying the Bible doesn't say sex doesn't automatically equate to marriage?

It implies quite a lot. Otherwise Jesus would be wrong about almost everything.

And I think it actually does say it somewhere, I just can't remember.
