Yeah Jet I'm not sure here. I'm only gonna say the following because it proves my point. I grew up in a shithole, I am not a product of my environment. I run a very successful company and I make more money than I ever thought possible. I am social, I have friends, I touch grass everyday. I am in what you would call this good position in life. I want for nothing. I would also say, with all that said, I am not particularly happy. I love myself, fairly self-aware, I raise my children well, but I'm not happy. And it's all a direct reflection of the state of the world. I only see that state of the world because, as the article points out, am "smart enough" to see it.

Also, if I didn't have kids, I'd be more content and care less about the state of the world. I'd just protect myself and die. I'd be happier if I didn't have kids. Not because I'd trade them for anything, or I don't love them and enjoy watching them grow into who they are, but because the world that is being left to them is a cesspool, and that's what I care about.

Having kids makes everyone unhappier.

Turning off the news makes everyone happier.
