Physicians have a shockingly high proportion of engagement with this insanity. I've never met a man (=human male) with a cervix, but such a simple statement goes whistling past the heads of these people trained in treating the biological form of humans. Refusing to respect simple biology by those tasked with caring for it is a great demonstration that there are parts of the human mind - immune to cognitive processes - which are dominant over the more rational parts we think of as representing who we are.

I have a relative who's a faculty member of a med school. They have to accept this crap for the grant funding.

I had a conversation about a month ago with a physician in a social setting, and she was a true believer. She honestly viewed all the surgery and the procedures to be the "compassionate" thing to do with physically healthy but unhappy people. "First Do No Harm" seems to have no place any more in the minds of people like this doctor.
