Can't read that at work, but I saw the story previously. Basically what happened was the idiot did indeed wear a plug. It was supposed to be a plastic plug. Turns out it had a metal core to it and it ended up shooting up into the person's stomach. Apparently there's a lawsuit against the manufacturer.
