Be it the vampires in The Lost Boys or anti-heroes like Venom, I can't help but root for those guys. Fuck the good guys, they're always lame.

I usually don't root for either of them. The protagonists are usually bad too, just better at hiding it. Someone like Luke Skywalker is an exception.
