Its initial mission was to "track and discuss banned and quarantined subreddits." It was not supposed to be a hub for banned communities to congregate. It's been banned 2 or 3 times in the past 5 years. The main reason for that is because the sub repeatedly evolved into a deleted mod preservation catalog where people would archive, share, discuss, and update old or deleted mods and subs. It was also a place for "mod piracy."

I don't remember it ever getting banned before, and I don't know what "mod piracy" is supposed to mean.
