I am a senior moderator of a financial website that seems to be doing okay and I've been a user on Reddit for over 10 years

I'm an amateur at running apis that interface with websites but I am a fairly experienced C programmer I actually have 30 years experience as a c programmer so I don't understand why it's so difficult to interface with the website since JavaScript interfaces with websites like devtools and selenium and all that can someone explain it to me why you can't just do that is is ready engineered in a way that you can't write JavaScript to scrape it and interface with it

Those tools are typically fragile, because adding an extra div or changing a name will mess things up. Additionally, they are slow.

I wish that I could control devtools from the dos shell command prompt, which would allow me to write programs using FCC to control devtools.
