This was a funny one to watch. I’ve lived parts of my life on the wrong side of the tracks in several Western US cities, so I know LA gang culture pretty intuitively. I used to read this one on and off because it was one of the last places on Reddit that had some frijoles. That’s why they had to kill it. Racial conflict was discussed very frankly as a fact of life. White gangs would sometimes get shout-outs and even non-whites who actually knew their stuff would pay their respects because they understood a lot of skinheads/Woods/prison gangs emerged from survival struggles. Often, Reddit unsanctioned opinions like “fuck homeless junkies who ruined my neighborhood!” would leak through.

But it was going to die one day. There were these liberals and GTA kids who would fuck it up and fight with the people who actually knew stuff. They didn’t want to hear how things really are. Mods got shittier and shittier and now this mod that no one respects literally says only approved users can post so there can be less conflict and it can be “more like a museum.” ROFL, much gangsta.
