For an American Jewish Zionist, he's got to be on the less Zionist end of the spectrum though, right? He won't attend AIPAC, and he's one of very few that will discuss the plight of Palestinians. I haven't heard too much outspokenness for the 2 state solution either, like the J Street crowd, although maybe I just missed it. If he's against Likud, how much of a modern Zionist can he be?

Yes, a labour leftist Zionist. Still for a two state solution, and not progressive in the least bit. Nothing will change. Billions will continue to flow to Israel, which Sanders welcomes.
