the chinese have infliltrated many linux and open source projects... they don't put in glaring back doors or exploits but they make it looks like an accidental glitch or zero day exploit that just happened to show up. pretty sure ubuntu(the most popular consumer friendly linux distro) has a backdoor hidden somewhere. one chinese woman has her hands on a huge amount of stuff. I can't find it again but her name is on a huge percentage of open source projects. https://www.cnet.com/news/china-chooses-ubuntu-as-state-endorsed-operating-system/

Ubuntu is a national security threat.

Right. But if you are creating a PDF file for for corporate distribution, you are expected to use an adobe license, and machine to produce said document. This is why alternate software to adobe, explicitly uses the terminology 'export as' and not 'save as' for PDF files.

They are not going to circumvent this obligation simply because they can. It would not only be in poor taste, but an insult to their business partners.

Any real PDF alternatives out there? You'd hope so by now.

Doesn't surprise me. Some people use Windows to display their power points at Linux & BSD conventions.
