This lil girl was all alone, she would go to the same spot in a park every evening and just huddle by the bathroom building and cry out to people walking by who for the most part, avoided her. She looked pretty bad so I get why people ignored her meows - to this day she makes the most insane eye contact when she's trying to communicate with you. After a week of noticing this, and seeing how bad her eyes looked and how adorable and friendly she was, I took her to the vet. She had a bacterial infection, eye infections and parasites (she wasn't having regular bowl movements, and worms would literally come out, esp after I started giving her the meds and they were dying - white and stringy like dancing mini spaghetti, it was bad. I felt terrible that this lil thing had to go through this. The meds were so awful, they'd make her foam at the mouth, but she'd never fight or claw).

I waited a few weeks for this girl to heal up so I could take a photo of her almost fully healed up! She's grown a lot in 3 weeks (it was way too early for her to get separated from her mother, but she did.. She was at that park that we noticed, everyday for over a week, all by herself and always crying, and she's still a tiny lil thing). She would have probably died if someone else didn't get her help, and she was there for a while. She loves to cuddle and sleeps in the pockets of all my hoodies - this is her favorite one though because it's soft and the hoodie opens up vertically and has larger pocket.

I literally carry her around like Kangaskhan and she's my lil cubone (should have named her cubone!), she sleeps in my hoodie pockets as I walk around or do stuff.

Enza the good Samaritan.

😂

If I’m honest, it was more so how adorable she was personality & looks-wise than me being a good person (I love her floppy ear tips & big eyes - curse that finding large eyes cute in our dna thing) - she looked bad so everyone passed her on, if she was healthy someone would have taken her before me for sure!

She honestly is more dog than cat; everyone is automatically her friend and she gives everyone her belly to pet, and even falls asleep like that like in the photo in the op edit! I’ve never seen a cat, let alone a kitten enjoy belly rubs and ask for them! Every cat I’ve ever pet hated having their stomach touced.

You can do anything to this kitten and she doesn’t get upset or use her claws - she’s gonna be a great cat!

Yo, thank you thank you thank you

She's adorable, good job Enza! I'd recommend getting her spayed as soon as she's able, cats in heat are annoying and prodigiously fertile.

Thanks so much! You mean we’re not gonna have a play date with gizmo and Luna? 😂

And dude I know.. I just found out the other day female cats can give birth into old age.. it blew my mind, their reproduction style is different than humans. It’s like egg machine goes brrr.

I've been trying to improve Gizmo's socialization but so far he still seems to hate every person and animal that isn't me or the wife. I'm going to keep working on it.

I know how that is, that’s how my other rescue is (Kiki, the older one), I’m surprised at how each day she’s getting better with Luna; she has serious ptsd, if she hears my apt door open or my neighbors leaving, she automatically runs to hide. If I leave for too long.. she shreds a corner of my couch despite having a cat tree and scratching post. She’s super needy too.

No one can touch her except for me or my mom. I was worried Luna would be a problem, but I think they’re gonna end up friends.

Was Gizmo a rescue too? I have Luna locked up in “her own room” for now, let Kiki have the rest of the apt and maybe for an hr a day I take Luna out so my other cat can check her out and slowly get used to her. It seems to be working.

I had a Kiki too, friendly little vocal tortie. She lived to 17 and died of saddle thrombosis. It was horrific, we were trying to gather up the $300 the vet (fucker) wanted to put her down but by the time we did she was thankfully out of her misery. It was bad. I had been fighting with the wife for months before that to put Kiki down because she was old and dying but my wife wouldn't hear of it.

All my animals are rescues. Kiki and Peaches were problem cats who had been mistreated by my bipolar SIL enough that they revenge shat on everything. That was hard to fix too, but we did and they lived good long lives. Gizmo was abandoned when he was only a few weeks old. He has a breathing problem, I suspect his mother abandoned him for that. We had to bottle feed him and clear up his mite infestation.

We got Gizmo at the end of Peach's life. They never got along. We did the whole Jackon Galaxy thing but it didn't work. I feel bad Peaches had to live her last year with a kitten she hated but he needed a home.

My boys have their balls and claws and are ready to fuck or fight.

lmao who’s the asshole who already marked the pic in the op erotic material 😂😂😂

I sent the image to a friend to click (just click the photo in the op to see) and they were like “errr just got a message saying I have to confirm I’m over 18 as it says it contains erotic and mature content”

I mean, i technically am flashing my pussy?

Dogs usually like kittens.

Thank you! :)

She’s my second rescue, one of my exes gave me a kitten (who I still have and is getting along with this lil fur ball surprisingly), that we rescued from her neighbors and I fell in love with, so she gave her to me for our one year anniversary even tho she loved her too. I’ve told this story, but my ex lived in a bad neighborhood, there were a lot of feral cats and her neighbor would pour boiling hot water on any cats that came into her backyard to “keep them out”.

I think I like rescuing cats better, it’s better all around for everyone involved, and they have more personality to them imho. And if they’re young, they really bond with you in those first few days.

But personally, I’ve never adopted or gone looking to adopt a cat or kitten so idk. My parents have had two, but they were both aloof assholes.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Sometimes the aloof assholes are inbred "pure" cats. My Mom had Himalayans like that.

All of my cats have been rescues of sorts over the years, from the pound or from hearing about a cat needing a home to making a home for a new orphan.

  1. Bud Mewsephalus Asquith
  2. Charlie Agador Spartacus
  3. Thurston Howell, The Third
  4. Daisy Fluff 'N' Stuff
  5. Miss Ivana Barfsalot
  6. Silver Curio - current
  7. Gold Alfraidio - current

A dim photo without flash makes the bothers look much darker than they are. The duvet they're on is near-white light-cream.

That would make sense! I fucking hate forced inbreeding dude, my mom was obsessed with pure breed chihuahuas, and it’s like those creatures only exist to suffer lol. They get the worst shit in old age like hip displacement, and I can truly say, they are some of the “silliest” animals I’ve ever encountered..

And dude I love your names lol! I was originally gonna name her Artemis, but everyone said it was weird so I went with Luna (which they don’t know is related to Artemis, ha!!!). Gold and Silver are such cute combo names, and I love that photo, they’re adorable!!

It’s like yin and yang haha

I know an Artemis in San Francisco, great lady.

Make it a longer formal name, Luna Artemis Diana (Wonder Woman) seems appropriate as they are all ancient huntresses.

Curio was always fearless and Alfraidio was always the scaredy cat. Now that they're both accustomed to this place those character features have dissolved away, leaving me to find their less-stereotypical normalized personalities and quirks.
