It's all manufactured division. They create false stories, employ people to start fights / antagonize on social media, push one-sided narratives on various news networks ( trace all news orgs to the top, they're all owned by the same people ) all in an effort to manufacture division and unrest. They do the same thing with race...and it works. Racism is more alive today in the west than it has ever been because it's an easy dividing line, and the current 'queer' ideology is no different.

I don't want to get all Biblical and be labeled another 'religious nutjob', but Matthew 12:25 says it best: Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand."

In other words: United we stand, divided we fall. Humans are just too easily turned towards one another, and the people who want to control everything know it. Especially now when you can actually convince a group of people to believe in something that is just structurally and factually incorrect, like 'flat Earth' or 'men can be women'.

I don't mean to be all morose, I just think we've long-passed the point of "It can get better." I simply don't think it can, not anymore.

I had a whole wild conspiracy theory thing going here, but, well I don't wanna get into it. What it boils down to is if you believe in the generational theory, we're due for a cataclysmic event soon that will basically break society and then we'll have to rebuild. I theorize that something is going to happen to the Internet and that all this crazy stuff happening on here in the precursor to that.

So what I mean to say is, it can get better. After it gets a whole lot worse. But give it twenty years if you got it.

I mean, the pandemic already happened, didn't it?

I feel like the pandemic wasn't the event so much as the response but even that was more symptomatic of where society is right now, and the lockdowns and everything just exacerbated what's going on online right now.

I don't think the pandemic response broke society but it definitely helped push open the cracks a bit. Maybe it's morosely hopeful thinking on my part, but I really think something like social media or whole internet collapse is due to happen soon. God knows I feel like the Internet has been such a double edged sword for the world, but damn if that second edge isn't starting to hit harder than the first, at least for me.

It could also be that I'm just a crotchety old man who is frightened and confused by the kids these days.

This is pure, concentrated copium.

What might happen is the continuation of what's already in course: the surface internet becoming more and more controlled and online life becoming more and more centralized into few giant social media sites.

At best, people might migrate in masse for the "deep web" and less centralized online networks, but even that is farfetched.

True. Most people at least over 40 or even mid 30s and some in late 20s have gotten burnt out with social media and the constant non-stop barrage and distraction of it, yes a lot of people were on it when it was new but a lot of the super early people who would now be called proto-"influencers" are no longer on it, or have long since moved on. Southpark back when it was still funny and made fun of everyone and everything had an episode about this with former internet/youtube stars.

My grandparents and parents told me it was like this with film, radio, and later TV.

I can see an AI takeover, not in a malicious sense, but in the sense of making the internet basically unusable just because it's filled with AI chatbots just talking to each other nonstop, and that being the thing that "takes down the internet "

I have hope that, as a society, we would push back against social credit scores and a Cyberpunk-esque corporate takeover of our lives. But then, I also wouldn't be surprised if people were like, "Yeah, Google's recording my thoughts and my eye implant footage, but I have nothing to hide and it's so convenient to get my calendar right there on my HUD."

I definitely think the internet is going to play a pivotal role in societal collapse in some form, though.

True, a lot of the journalists writing articles are not even from the countries, cities, states/provinces they are paid to write remotely about and they just make things up to get a word count and whatever the "news" company or their employer wants to have others read.

Also what you see on social media, through "influencers", tik-tok, YouTube, Twitter, etc. is fake I don't mean the cooking or DIY repair videos, but videos where people go on a rant about their entire identity, micro-agressions/"trauma", etc.

The more followers someone has the more fake and untruthful they are.

Despite what grifters like Dylan claim, nobody except the tech or product company owners is making lots of money from any of this.

Also OP (original poster) do not forget how they tried to erase or get rid of bisexuals and what gets called a gay and bi "culture", and said nonsense like "You MUST fuck or date a trans person otherwise you are a bigot!" and complete lies such as "You cannot tell at all if someone is trans, not by their appearance, and their body and genitals do not matter!"

Honestly even I am not LGB but this shit concerns me and while I don't have the need to come out (even to just stop being asked if I am gay in denial...) but I don't wanna be assumed to be the blue haired queer nutjob, who is looking for kids, for being asexual.

There was a recent article about how Northampton Massachusetts was the best rated place to be trans, but also the trans teams were the most miserable and rated worst on all mental health measures more or less.

I have a different experience :

1.People mostly blame the LGBT "community" as a whole, they do not target gay men/people specifically.Of course,I have observed the occasional user screaching about sodomites, fire and brimstone.

2.Many people from the so called political Right, even religious ones, saying they have no problem with gay people, because they understand that trans activism represents something new and separate from the gay rights movement, which had live and let live as it's core message.

I hope that gays have done enough in the few years we had to promote acceptance. I know that I have no fear at all of being open about being married to another man. If the old school gays and lesbians continue to just act like normal people, I think most other normal people will continue to accept us.

I think most people can separate the gay people they see in everyday life from the idiots they see in on TV or online.

People mostly blame the LGBT "community" as a whole, they do not target gay men/people specifically

Depends.

Many people still use gay men and lesbians as the base they use to evaluate the other letters in the soup.

Case in point: even today many still believe that the average MtF is the equivalent of an extremely effeminate gay men, and so they extend the sympathy they have for gay men to MtFs as a whole.

Of course,I have observed the occasional user screaching about sodomites, fire and brimstone.

Most of those are going to get laughted at IRL.

Even the religious fundamentalist/homophobic politician of today knows how to adjust their language and presentation to be better palatable to the masses, not because they care about not being bigoted, but as a matter of basic pragmatism.

Anyone with even a single braincell knows that this kind of overt shit doesn't fly anymore on the mainstream.

Many people from the so called political Right, even religious ones, saying they have no problem with gay people, because they understand that trans activism represents something new and separate from the gay rights movement, which had live and let live as it's core message.

See the point above.

Even though these groups claim to have nothing against gay and lesbian people, they would not hesitate for a second to roll back many of the advances in regards to gay rights won in the last few years if they had the power and opportunity to do so.

Let's not kid ourselves here.

I agree with this, and it is becoming an issue. Especially with the whole "(LGB)T are pedophiles" thing because of the whole drag story time, etc... Which being found out that supposedly some of the storytellers are offenders.

Acceptance rates seem to slowly be going down. Fortunately, I have seen some people differentiate between LGB and TQ+ when it comes to all this nonsense but still...
