The same Colorado baker who refused to bake the gay wedding cake is now being fined for refusing to bake a transition cake. by julesburm1891 in LGBDropTheT

These people have no souls. They are disgusting bullies, plain and simple.
The baker does not owe anyone his time and labor. The man in this story and the gay couple prior are able to walk in and walk out with any cake he has for purchase...but they don't want that, they want to force this man to expend his labor in creating a custom cake depicting a message that goes directly contrary to his beliefs.
You don't have to share those beliefs, either, to see how wrong this is. Other scenarios would involve forcing a Halal restaurant to cook and serve pork, or to flip the coin: a gay baker must design and make a cake depicting whatever verse in the bible those nut jobs quote to say their God is against homosexuality. Or maybe a black baker creating a tiered cake of the scene of some KKK spooks lynching a black man?

There was another story circulating around at the same time of some white supremacist parents who wanted their child's name to be 'Adolf Hitler Whatever' or something to that tune, and they were denied that by the judge. Apart from the abject stupidity of naming a kid that and expecting their life to be anything BUT horrendous, I don't see how it is any judge's choice on what a parent names their child. I guess in short, I think we have way too many federal judges, and I think we give them WAY too much power, and freedom to wield that power however they want.

Our broken courts have decided there is to be no oversight to the level of power, influence and control these companies can possess so the only way to 'kill' them is to bleed them of their userbase.

I know a lot of people use Twitter, I know it makes some things easier and nobody likes to break their norms, but if you have an account you NEED to drop it and find another method of online communication, otherwise...what's the point of complaining about them when YOU are giving them that power?

I know it's usually seen from the side of men 'becoming' women, which in most instances IS a form of perversion and predation, but as a man I do get fairly pissed off about the lesser-known FtM. The sheer audacity of a female to claim she knows what it's like to be a man, that she has the experiences that come with growing up and going through puberty as a man, the expectations placed upon us and challenges we face is honestly no-less insulting than the other way around. Male and female are not JUST sexes, they are roles and rules, and while I am all-for bucking most gender trends there's certain aspects that are just hard-baked into us as an evolved species. Call them rights-of-passage, call them cultural trends, hell call them responsibilities...but I agree, you can NEVER change your sex, and stating you are the opposite one trivializes the experiences of the biological men and women who lived it and is demeaning as it is ridiculous.

And at the risk of being controversial, if I'm being honest, I actually WANT this to pass. Honestly, do you think any of that really works anymore? It's blatantly obvious over the past few years that our "representatives" just vote party line. If Biden puts it forth, every Democrat will vote for it, guaranteed. We're not electing people to represent us, we're electing toadies that are willing to throw away accountability and responsibility to do whatever it takes to get to the top.
The media has successfully made politics an 'us vs them' mentality.

You know, what bothers me the most, no fucking joke, is that this doesn't even surprise me.
Years ago I would have been outraged and shocked, I might have laughed in disbelief or probably assumed it hyperbole...but these days, it's expected. I read this and went 'yeah, that's about right'... and the more I think about it, the more that bothers me. An article in a widely circulated, very respected scientific journal saying penises are basically enlarged clitorises doesn't shock me. I'm more shocked that I'm not shocked.

I just...I don't even know where to go from here.

Only speaking to my own experiences, I rarely have the energy to handle one person in a relationship, I can't even imagine trying to juggle two ( potentially ) opposite people. Forget bisexual, you would almost have to be bipolar.

I understand what you mean by 'bi-cycling', which btw is my new favorite phrase, but again speaking only of myself...I don't typically want apples when I'm enjoying oranges, you know? The way I look at my bisexuality is fairly simple, it just means I have more options than most. It doesn't mean I want both a girl AND a guy at the same time, though to those exploring and more promiscuous than I that would likely be a benefit, but that's more to my personal preference than any engrained limitation on my sexuality...I just a one-person kind of guy.

I'm by no-means an outgoing person, and I actually admit that I am rather prudish, but if my circle started ostracizing me for not being as adventurous in my sexuality as they are I'd probably find a new circle of friends. I don't live my life or fuck to someone else's agenda, and I'm also not usually super open about my sexuality. Not because I'm ashamed or 'closeted', I just don't think it's anyone's business really. I'm actually more open HERE, in forums like this, because it is a community rooted around our sexualities and attractions, but in the real world? It's just a factoid, like my favorite pizza toppings or how I like my scotch.

So basically, for me, I don't think any unique approach to a polyamorous relationship would necessarily be reliant upon one's sexuality, just one's preferences like anything else. And as I said, I wouldn't shit on someone for being in a poly relationship...but I also wouldn't hold my breath expecting their trifecta to last or be healthy.

I TRY to be understanding and, at the least, non-judgmental of people's personal lives, but I have yet to see any upside to polyamory that doesn't feed into promiscuity and isn't blatantly self-destructive. I just do not understand polyamory.

First and foremost: Gone Home. Seriously, this is not only one of the best story-based games, not only has an awesome fucking soundtrack, but has a sickeningly-sweet but still realistic gay romance. I'm actually shocked more people haven't suggested it thus-far, it's easily top pick for an LGB game in my book.

The Life is Strange games, both the first one and the prequel Before the Storm, are not only awesome story-based games ( what some call 'walking simulators' ) but handle same-sex romances in the best possible way: they're just there. They don't lecture you, they don't rub your face in it, you just have characters who are gay. Before the Storm, in particular, is almost a game centered around a budding lesbian romance only with, y'know, tons of angst and drama thrown into the mix. I'll admit I am biased, though, as these are basically my absolute favorite games ever.

Another, The Outer Worlds, is an open-world RPG that has a very awesome lesbian character as well, voiced by Ashley Burch, and even if she's not romanceable her story arc is both adorable and hilarious. It also helps that it's a very good game.

Lastly, Dragon Age: Inquisition is the first game where I created a character specifically to romance one of the companions. I usually make male characters when given the option to customize, but the moment I learned Sera was female-only romance I immediately started all over, her character was just THAT good.

Exactly! I seriously do not think the loss of attraction is because he looks atrocious in heels or comes off looking like a drag queen, it's because as Humans we instinctively shy away from things that make us uncomfortable or feel dangerous. A man suddenly wanting to be a woman is BOTH of those things. Any soon-to-be mother is going to think about the well being of her coming child, and that throws up all kinds of red flags.

And, not to go all psychologist or anything, but it's VERY clear to me that his 'change' happened because his partner, as is typical of pregnant women, was likely getting far more attention and catered to than he was and it made him jealous. Plus, him suddenly being a "woman" catapulted his needs up-to or ( in his mind ) over her own. That's a dead-ringer for narcissism.
