This reminds me of an interaction I had at a university LGBT center. When i started there it was pretty chill then an older crowd of staff had left and the students were left to run the center for about a year. It remained perfectly fine and then they finally hired a new staff to run the center. That director hired an assistant. The assistant was giving an anecdote about a friend who had died of ovarian cancer. Problem is the story was primarily to create sympathy for a barrier to trans people getting medical care. At the time I had not yet hit peak trans but i questioned the story slightly. "The doctors actually refused to treat your friend for cancer for being trans?". "(S)he was never diagnosed... Etc"

It turns out the person was experiencing pain or symptoms of some kind and the person's primary care doctor was trying to get HER to go to a gynecologist but apparently that is "invalidating" so she kept refusing.

It was like trying to squeeze blood from a stone to get the real story. I was basically saying trans people should be encouraged to be aware of their biology not led down a rabbit hole where they think that gender ID overrides their physical body. The new staff was basically looking at me like I was personally killing someone by saying this. In hindsight this was the beginning of the propaganda takeover. They hadn't yet developed the propaganda to argue with me or to expel me from the LGBT center but that place went to absolute shit within a year so i stopped going on my own anyway.
