I gave up with Jodie Whittaker. But there have been uninspiring periods of Doctor Who in the past. It's fairly widely accepted that the writing declined during the latter half of Peter Davison's tenure in the 1980s, and who remembers Colin Baker with much fondness? The problem with Doctor Who is that there are only so many plots. Sometimes it all comes together like with David Tennant and Catherine Tate, but all the planets (pun intended) have to come into alignment. There's no guarantee Davies can do it again.

And, unfortunately, as good as he is sometimes, Russell T. Davies is known to have a bad case of wokeness these days.

I've found myself watching older SciFi lately, like Farscape. Think back to the 2000s when we had Stargate SG-1, Farscape, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, and a successfully rebooted Doctor Who. It seems like all the imagination that created those shows has petered out.

Oh Catherine Tate... Donna was my absolute favorite companion.

I'm pretty sure the trans actor who has been cast is playing Donna's child as the character name is Rose Temple-Noble and Donna Noble married Shaun Temple.

The Expanse and For All Mankind are both brilliant. I thought For All Mankind would be painfully woke but it was actually fantastic and it's so well thought out in it's history. The Expanse does have a NB character in the last few episodes but you actually wouldn't know if the showrunners hadn't mentioned it on their twitter. And while it's a marmite show, I though Foundation was pretty great.

All three have incredibly diverse casts and tell great stories with them without making you feel like showcasing their super diverse cast is the purpose of the show.
