Asexuality glommed on to the LGBTQ+ movement several years ago. It was very strange to witness in real time.

It started as a small group of people who were genuinely asexual or had very little sex drive, and were grateful to find each other thanks to the internet. Then there was an influx of those on the spectrum, which makes sense, but they acted like those on the spectrum tend to act. Then came the teens and tweens, and the next thing you know they were setting up booths at pride days and had a flag and pins and there was "aromantic asexuals" and "demisexuals" and "queerplatonics" and that's all she wrote, I guess.
