She's 11, so getting up there in years. She had a mast cell tumor removed from her leg a few years back, and about 6 months ago, I noticed a small fleshy-looking growth in a similar area (deep inside on her leg, near the fold of her groin). I didn't think much of it at first since the vet had mentioned it's not uncommon to get small growths of tissue near the surgical site, plus she has lipomas and the occasional skin tag.

I checked on it again last week and saw that the growth had grown and changed color - red-and-black mottled, and really angry looking. Like, I know nothing about cancer and I immediately thought, "that's a tumor".

Bad news, it's definitely cancer. Good news, her bloodwork came back OK, and she's eligible for surgery to get it removed!

Now I just gotta find a day to schedule it where I won't have to take too much time off work, we're in a blackout period because of the holidays so I have to minimize time off as much as possible. Also have to wait for her to finish a round of antibiotics she's on, so they'll have a new baseline of where she's at.
