I think reading their actual verbiage is in order, here, as it's a bit vague and makes it sound like they are actually apologizing for continuing to use "LGB" for continuity's sake, and expect to update some things in the future.

I can't definitively interpret what that tweet claims—I don't see a solid commitment in that verbiage to using LGB in the future in quite the way that is being asserted.

I'm also distracted at the moment so if someone has something more definitive, please toss it in here.

Yeah, that's kind of how it sounded to me, too, when I was reading the screenshots. The original tweet is clearly someone that's upset that "queer people are being erased!!!!!" so she is probably willfully misinterpreting what is being said in the screenshots as some negative thing when it does come across like them saying, "We've always used LGB for sexuality and gender for T but we know that's bad but we have to for consistency's sake."

Yup. They really don't seem to be announcing that as something new. And it makes sense that the tweeter wouldn't care all that much about accuracy, since...generally, disregarding accuracy in order to make specious claims is their whole shtick. It's just ironic in this case that it becomes a self-inflicted freak-out. I don't see what the fuss is about here for a TQ+ person.

It was a nice sense of restored sanity while it lasted, for those few seconds.

We’re just waiting to see the new guidelines. Fingers crossed.
