The witness said no one tried to intervene - and drivers failed to stop - during the incident but said they could understand why, having personally been assaulted on a previous occasion when they tried to step in to stop an unprovoked attack.

I find this so bizarre. What's going on in Edinburgh? Also, they can't publish the faces of the suspects, so how can they be tracked down?

They do that when the suspects aren't white as to "not inflame racial tensions."

Edit: not intervening is very common throughout all cultures. There have been studies done on it. People think someone else will intervene.

Like the pakistani gangs raping white girls? Uk seems to have a serious gang/safety social problems, especially among poorer racial minorites. Overall a more dangerous places than others european countries, including my own.

The not-intervening part is sad. But I think the reason people won’t do it is because they’re afraid if they do it they will get attacked as well. There is no community anymore.

Maybe if you see someone being attacked in public, so to the people next to you "we should intervene". If five bystanders intervene, shit will get done.

The article says it's Scottish Law. Also, you can tell at least a couple of those guys have to be white.
