University campuses are bubbles by design. It's not a bad thing, but knowing lots of bisexuals isn't a normal thing and most of those people are just trying on identities because they're young adults and that's part of growing up. Also not a bad thing.

I can't read other people's minds, but I will try a little.

TL;DR: times have changed.

There are a lot of political changes in the last decade that have led up to this situation and we're in a readjustment period where we're figuring out the "new normal." Liberal homophobia, which is a recent development since I graduated from high school in the Bush era, seems to revolve less around punishing same-sex attraction (which is conservative homophobia) and more around punishing lack of hetero attraction.

Gay organizations are completely controlled by the left, academia too. The support system gays and lesbians reach out to when they come of age hates them and pushes them in myriad ways to make themselves available to the opposite sex in some way- pick their poison, but they have to conform somehow.

This is coming from straight liberals, they have drafted and brainwashed a lot of homosexuals. Bisexuals are a convenient tool in the arsenal, but as far as I can tell aren't making decisions and are being subjected to the same pressures. I live in a red state so I don't get exposed to much of this personally.

If I was a lesbian, I would find it heartbreaking to see other lesbians destroying themselves and attempting to destroy each other. If I was over 25-ish, I would also have come of age in a time when straight liberal people accepted and defended me, and their support would be something I counted as a given. I would not want to believe the destructive people were actually lesbians. Anyone who is not exclusively a lesbian is a bisexual, therefore everyone breaking my heart and killing my community is a bisexual and I don't have to see them as my own people. This also presents a solution- tell the bisexuals to leave lesbians alone!

I obviously don't think that would work, because I don't think that's the problem. The issue is that homophobia has evolved and adapted to the gay liberation movement. The same power structure is being maintained through new means.

Only one of the three activists identifies as bisexual in the article. It's actually none of them. He purports to be gay while being purportedly sexually attracted to transmen, whom he purports to be men.

I don't think the pressure is to be bisexual, I think the pressure is to be less gay and there's only one way to do that. I don't think the pressure is coming from bisexuals either.

When bisexuals are subject to this same pressure, we identify as straight because we can usually pull that off. It's the same pressure coming from the same place playing out in varying ways.

I'm not sure where bisexuals got brought up in the article, maybe we're just having a venting session.

The guy Noah mentioned by Linehan appears to be a lesbian transman, she doesn't have much info available outside of social media profiles.

Noah seems to want to pretend lesbians don’t exist. Why ? Because lesbians are living proof that same-sex attraction is real. And gender ideologues are doing everything in their power to pretend it’s not.

I wonder what her motivation might be 🙄

The actor appears to be a conflicted gay man rather than sincerely bisexual (or at least that's what Graham seems to think.) Not that that's a new thing.

Edit: I thought about it a little more. All three activists in the article at least to me appear to be homosexuals who have in some way prioritized hetero attraction over their own. I do not interpret that as being bisexuality- 'cause I'm me- but it can read that way. I think their motivations for doing this are fundamentally political. It comes from their political ideology and the desired power structure they want to create.

I think the humor stereotype seems true to life. Yes, the bi puns.

Humor serves as a coping mechanism, not just against depression. It's fundamentally a way to diffuse tension, especially for weaker people against dominant people. Regardless of whether you've met another bisexual (knowingly) in your entire time on Earth, you'll be placed in enough situations where you are weak and need to protect yourself that you'll instinctively develop humor as a tool.

Puns... are easy. You don't have to be smart or naturally witty to throw a pun out to the room and make everyone laugh. It doesn't even have to make sense, just find a word that sounds like another word and boom! Anger reduced.

Most of the bi stereotypes seem to be normal behaviors for wealthy college and high school students, which is what most out and proud teen bis are.

Gender nonsense is a puritanical mandated belief for wealthy people (even rich Republicans play along.) They're in a fishbowl reinforcing all the beliefs and behaviors they're being taught at school and passing them on to any other bis that happen along as being "bi culture."

Their community they've found online is mostly just a pile of kids from similar socioeconomic backgrounds reinforcing beliefs and behaviors they're picking up at school.

My attempt at censorship backfired and a whole sentence got fucked up and I can't fix it. Hopefully you can fill in the blanks.

How to talk to my daughters about lesbian safe sex? (As usual the men who are "larping as women" invade a space in which they have absolutely no business in giving their feedback on. If only there was an actual same-sex based sub for this mother to ask her question on.) by MatthewofHouseGray in LGBDropTheT

I'm just gonna say it. This lady is weird.

Why go fumbling around blind in the dark to explain sex you'll never have to daughters who are unlikely to ever have it either? Unless this is her way of saying "I think one of my tween and teenage daughters might be gay" in which case lecturing her about safe scissoring is not the way to approach that.

Or am I wrong? I also get a feeling this might be a cultural difference between classes and ethnic backgrounds. I am obviously not the same group as this lady 🤣

Edit: just finished her novel. She claims to not think they're gay but wants to make sure they're prepared in case they have sex with women anyway. Just in case!

Coming out isn't a wonderful experience if you were forced to. I wonder who her industry handlers are, it might explain some of this.

Have you seen the second season of The Boys? There's a character who goes through a forced outing and then gets "accepted" to death by the corporate lizard people she works for. Very much intended as a passive aggressive punishment.

From what I gather she's been involved in the Social Justice end of things for at least a decade. Sooner or later the revolution always eats its own, maybe she figured that out and is literally trying to hide to protect herself.

Don't attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity, she thinks she's being super casual and letting other women know what to expect. Maybe you gave her a heads up that it doesn't work like that.

Harper's in 1971 ran an essay by Norman Mailer entitled “The Prisoner of Sex,” that declared war on “women’s liberation.” At the Town Hall panel Diana Trilling said “in 50 years we’ll find out” what radical feminism might do to those it would affect. Those 50 years are now up. by Chipit in books

[–]PatsyStone 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It seems like a Joker and Batman situation with these people, two extreme groups that found an adversary in each other. Neither sounds attached to reality. Feminism's biggest legacy so far is creating harsher social expectations for everyone and lowering the value of women's labor. Not what they claimed to want.

I thought you were already prohibited from requiring the vaccine while it's under the emergency authorization? None of them will have FDA approval for at least a couple of years.
