I appreciate that she's speaking out against TRAs and trying to protect children. She may not get much attention though because she's an adult transitioner, and youth simply don't have the brain/mind skills to truly understand the long-term consequences of their actions. I appreciate it nonetheless, and hope more do continue to speak up.

I especially appreciate this:

Transgenderism isn’t a vague feeling, or a distaste for stereotypical roles. It’s a serious internal condition that causes you to want to become the opposite sex. Medical transition, such as the kind I went through, can enhance an illusion that helps some gender dysphoric individuals navigate the world with more comfort. It did for me, and it was the right path for me to choose.

I wasn’t “born in the wrong body.” I was born female. But I didn’t like it. So I changed my appearance, at significant monetary, psychological, and physical cost, with plastic surgery and hormones. My sex never changed, though. Only my appearance changed.

She's not making excuses and she's not saying she became the opposite sex, and she's not even claiming gender dysphoria means she truly is the opposite sex (aka "brain sex/gender"). She's literally describing it as "enhancing an illusion" that made herself feel better and be more comfortable in her own skin.

I'm 100% fine with adults making informed decisions for themselves, even million-dollar plastic surgery. I wouldn't do it personally, but if it's not harming anyone else and she can afford it and has a better quality of life after, go on then.

I don't know anything about the author beyond what's just in this article, but based on what's she's saying, she reminds me of the old-school transsexuals I knew in the 90s/early 2000s, before the TRA madness took hold. Not exactly the kind of T that made us become LGBT in the first place (HSTS), but similar in that they both are/were more grounded and realistic.
