TRAs are asking everyone to put their pronouns in their bios in order to "normalize" it. So, if they achieve that goal, what happens with trans people? If you have someone that looks like a man but puts "she/her" in their e-mail signature, then that person is having to out themselves as trans even though they might not have wanted to do that. If that person puts "he/him" in their e-mail signature, then they're having to broadcast pronouns that they don't feel describe them and that might make their dysphoria worse. ...

If I'm a trans woman and someone is telling me, "Put 'she/her' in your bio so people know you're a woman!" then my thoughts would be, 'Are you saying I obviously don't pass and look like a man? Dick move.'

Completely agree! It's a really good point and one that I never hear mentioned among TRAs.

I think that in many cases, the whole "you have to broadcast your pronouns and put them in your bio!" thing is spread by (hopefully well-intentioned...) straight people who just haven't thought it through.
