A lot of gays and lesbians never really thought about what accepting their premise is.

Well, 90% of transgender people at the time were HSTS, so it's no wonder they didn't considered this.

What didn't anyone expected was the boom in the amount of straight people transitioning in order to fulfill a fetish.

i think the gay and lesbian activists of the past would never have dreamed of any heterosexuals wanting to be even within a 10 foot distance with homosexuals so they just took that issue of our community and its "space" for granted. We emitted some type of gay radiation that repelled everyone away and we all had our little magical narnia gay space which was our home and we could visit the heterosexual world as guests. It was probably beyond their conception to even think of having the prudence to defend our spaces.
