That list of things the 15 year old had posted was not something to share with random strangers. Whatever happened to privacy? The "look at me" crowd hates privacy apparently. If you don't know all my problems, how will you validate me for them -- is that it?

An underaged kid posting "I'm austistic, queer, need friends" expects what kind of replies? Other young teens? Any groomers probably search profiles for keywords like that.

Remember the South Park (I guess the NAMBLA one) where Eric Cartman went online to find mature friends? He typed something like "I'm a 9 year old boy looking to make more mature friends" and immediately instant messages from pedos popped up.

Exactly. They assume that because they're being honest that everyone they interact with online is being honest. After all, who would lie on their carrd?
