That's a really good point. It probably has something to do with how breasts are so sexualized in western societies. So transmen want to escape that and transwomen want to embrace it. And also the fact that most trans people want to have some semblance of a sex life so they know they need to keep their genitals intact. Hence the whole 'men can have vaginas and women can have penises. Because I need to get off somehow.'

A trans person told me it's because breasts are more visible & people can't see your genitals.

Which to me raises more questions. I would think if we're to believe the whole I have a female brain in a male body (and vice versa) , then the incongruence/dysphoria would be coming from an internal source and your entire body would cause you distress. The idea that the dysphoria comes only from how others perceive you, seems to indicate it's societal combined with self esteem issues.
