Honestly I'm kind of sad to see all these comments judging what she looks like. Obviously she does not pass, she doesn't look like a man at all, but there is no need to bash her physical appearance that she didn't choose (apart from things like a haircut that are obviously chosen).

It's messed up that people at Time and elsewhere are feeding her delusion that she can become a man, and encouraging teens who are dissatisfied with their bodies of the same thing by publicizing this.

edit: I will say though, she doesn't look especially happy. Helena, the former mod of r/detrans, made a tweet about it that made me laugh: https://mobile.twitter.com/lacroicsz/status/1371985979179929605

I agree with you. It's obvious that she's not doing great and knowing what could have lead her to make this decision (abuse, ED, homophobia), there's no need to be cruel. I have a friend with a teen daughter, Page looks like any other edgy non-binary they/them, albeit in a younger demographic. Her transition isn't the wrong way to go because she's 5'1 and has a bad haircut and wont ever pass, it's the wrong way because it - after the buzz dies down and the novelty wears off - wont fix the underlying issues.

You put it even better than I did. Glad you thought so too. I think it's important to be clear about why it's harmful-- and in some ways laughable-- to see someone who is like LGB pretending to be a man on the cover of Time. It is not laughable because her appearance deserves ridicule, it is laughable because someone pretending to be the opposite sex that they are is ridiculous, since it isn't possible to change what sex you are. And even then, I have trouble laughing for for the reasons you observed regarding mental health.

Thank you! Yeah of course I have to bite my tongue sometimes when it comes to people falling for such an outrageous claim - ridiculous as you say - but I try to remember that in a couple of years, when it's all unravelling, because it will, I don't want people to feel like they'll never be welcomed back because of the things they believed or the things they did to themselves.
