This is somewhat good news - I don't think that gays need to be "centered" in Holocaust memorials, but it is nice to see that people would like to recognize that it was more than just Jews being gathered up and exterminated by the Nazis (which is not, of course, to say that we shouldn't talk about the Jewish victims at all). But I think they should be specific and not say those victims were "LGBTQI" because (1) nothing against bi people but I feel like they probably could have escaped being hunted down for homosexuality just by being in a heterosexual relationship and (2) I take umbrage with any "TQI" people that want to lay a claim on being persecuted in the Holocaust. Maybe there were trans people there, maybe not (probably more than likely not), but I can see this as a thing that'll start popping up in TRA circles about how trans people were the REAL Holocaust victims, and that's not cool.

The ones that were transsexuals were considered homosexuals, because most transsexuals then were homosexual.

Transsexual people were not specifically targeted by the Nazis. Homosexual men were.

Tassie is bonkers.

It was in Tasmania where someone in that group made a complaint about a female MP speaking up for women's rights (and females in sport), citing transphobia. She made it public and after she was getting quite a bit of attention, they suddenly dropped the complaint.

I mean Germany has countless memorials for each of the persecuted people groups. Jews, homosexuals, etc...
