Around 2017 when I found out straight men were identifying as lesbians. I think I read something about the "cotton ceiling" which repulsed me so much that I peaked. There's a movie called Better Than Chocolate (1999) with a trans character seducing a lesbian (video linked below) in it, but I guess I thought it was a joke (satire?). I was 16 in '99 and only knew of gay guys (irl) who identified as a trans. Straight guys who couldn't get girlfriends were offing themselves (two male classmates killed themselves because girls wouldn't date them), not transitioning.

Also, as I always make sure to point out... as a black lesbian, I've never seen a black transbian irl. This phenomenon seems to be a white lgbt+ community issue that I've only read about online. There aren't black men larping as lesbians on dating apps in my area (I live near Atlanta, the black lgbt+ mecca). There aren't hordes of black men colonizing black women spaces.
