On the plus side, LGB events stopped making sense about a dozen years ago. They were born to show that gay people exist and are proud of that. Now that gay people aren't openly discriminated in our society, the LGB pride parades turned from a "we are part of society" into a "we want to be different from society". At least that's the impression I got.

Yeah, I get that impression too and I don’t like it. I don’t want to be viewed as different from society, we spent decades getting to this point where I can mention having a husband casually in a conversation at work and no one questions it or says anything off colour.
