If we acknowledge that Ellen Page had always been a man, it means that Elliot was a straight guy who was taking roles from women this entire time. That's bad optics, of course, so there's an additional "they" pronoun and a ~qweer~ label, so Elliot Page wouldn't be included when straight white men are criticized. (The TRAs would probably go, "We're talking about CIS men", but I thought TMAM?)

They're "real men" when it benefits them, and "trans" when it benefits them.

Just like trans women are always "trans" when they're victims of a crime, but "women" when they're the perpetrators.
