For those that don't watch the show. Its a cartoon/comedy about kids going through puberty. They have these things called hormone monsters that personify the awkward, disgusting, and deeply uncomfortable experience of hormone changes during puberty.

They just introduced a trans girl character. The character explains they at first thought they were gay but they hated the changes the hormone monster was doing to their body. Thats how they discovered they were trans. So they go on puberty blockers and it shows the monster being kept in like a force field.

I was watching this just thinking WTF. Kids you think you maybe gay and are uncomfortable with the changes youre body is going through? Then youre trans!

Puberty is awkward and uncomfortable for everyone!!! More indoctrination and conversion of gay kids.

The trailers have always seemed a little suggestive of sexual stuff to me, I took that its a cartoon aimed for adults about teens going through puberty... to make a lot of content off that and address sexual stuff, even as “comedy” ends up coming off kinda creepy regardless of context. Never seen the show, but seems just... weird to me

I guess people are saying that making a cartoon about underage puberty/sex is pedophilic. I haven't seen it either, so I don't know how it is and whether these people are exaggerating.

I've watched it. Its got some funny parts here and there but overall I would have to say It sucks.

As far as the pedophilia goes, while I have never heard that specific issue brought up I can see why people would say that. There is a 14ish year old boy that fucks and carries out a committed relationship with his pillow.

Didn't Cuties just have poor marketing? It doesn't change the content, but the director was disappointed by how Netflix made the project out to be something glorifying the sexualisation of children when that was the opposite of the director's intent. Kind of like how everyone who doesn't understand Starship Troopers thinks that it's promoting fascism, when it's clearly an over the top criticism of it.

I was glad the character was only there for a few episodes. I like the show and was thinking of watching from the beginning again and if I do I’ll just skip Natalie. I understand they show a lot of lgbt but it felt like the wrong message was being sent. I’d have been okay with a trans adult (provided the dialogue wasn’t too preachy about gender identity) but I hate when shows “trans” children. I think a lot of shows do it for “woke points”.

What creeps me out the most is the this drugs are the exactly same drugs given to adults who undergo chemical castration. HOW and WHY do doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists go along with this? I watch BigMouth too. I think the trans character was cool. The show has a lot of LGBT representation so it fits. Natalie said she thought she was gay and explored that but she still felt stressed until she found out she was trans and went on puberty blockers. Her hormone monster even said that no one likes puberty but it's not that she "just feels uncomfortable," she feels dysphoria. It's not rlly indoctrination. She didn't transition to escape puberty because she's only going to go through another

I went through puberty around 1979. I don't recall there being any particular hand-wringing about it.
