Aww no, I was hoping you’d say I was wrong and overly critical. Ellen, she’s just not that into you. Get out of there bb girl. You don’t have to change yourself.

Their outward dynamic, Emma’s facial expressions generally, Emma’s creepy tweet about “fervently” supporting trans people every day, Ellen’s frantic and uncomfortable garbled language—all really just make this whole thing feel even more sinister and dystopian. And unless Ellen starts taking T, I can’t imagine she will feel all good and secure and relieved right now or anytime soon.

I've taught drama and so have worked around actors. There is, of course, a range, but actors are not necessarily the most emotionally stable people in the world. As far back as college, I said, after going to a party full of theater students, "The room seemed very crowded, probably because each of the acting students was trying to be three different people at once."

I swore off hanging out with drama students after ending up at a party full of them in high school. There was far too much going on with how they interacted, and it felt a little bit unsafe. I still remember it. I didn't feel like I was going to know who I was dealing with so I stayed in a corner until an exit was possible.
