My favourites:

But trans people are amazing. They have the guarantee of some funny and sad stories, and they always have a really deep personality. My boyfriend is the most amazing man I've ever met and he's trans. You'll find someone who loves you for you, not who they try to make you.

Literally everyone in the dating pool will have funny or sad stories. Similarly, most people are actually three-dimensional. Shocker.

Fuckem, you're stunning and are brave as fuck for living your reality. End of story.

This but ironically.

I’m not actually transgender (cuz I don’t really feel like questioning it yet) so I can’t relate as much as others here but if someone can’t see you for your true gender, then you’re better off without them as a partner. Just stay strong and you’ll find someone who will see you for you.

When I came out to my current partner as NB, her response was "I'm pan so all this changes is your pronouns. I love you." I sobbed for like an hour. My last serious partner before that dumped me for being bi so I really thought it would go the way of this comic.

My eyes may never roll back so they face forwards again.

Funny. People like colorful unusual Pokémon. But not colorful unusual humans. :

Caught any cool Pokémon? Oh I found Tramsvee! I had to throw 56897 great balls at it but I finally caught it!!! Look it knows transform! It goes from one gender to another when it evolves!!!!!! It has change attack it can use attacks from both genders ohhhh so exciting!!!!

I have a friend who’s trans. meh. Isn’t that against the Bible or something??

Again, the fuck?

Having a genital preference is perfectly fine. Refusing to date someone just because they are trans alone is not, imo.

So I can refuse to date you because you don't have the right genitals? Cool. Glad we figured that out.

Jesus wept.

The funny thing about this is that it applies to you (the trans reader) but not to them (the cis people). They are not stunning and brave for living their reality of not feeling attracted to you. If a gay man doesn't feel attracted to transmen he isn't simply living his reality and end of story, they'll keep dragging the story until it goes their way.

This isn't even just a TRA thing by the way. This is a problem I often have with internet dating advices, because it's based on supporting the reader "you" and criticizing "them", often in conflicting ways. A point I've seen often, for example, is that "you" don't need to date anyone that doesn't fit your standards, but "they" are evil if they reject you for not fitting their standards.

I wish they just stopped with this lie of saying genital "preferences" are fine and with the gaslighting of pretending they never try to pressure us. If our "preferences" were really fine for them that thread wouldn't exist.

...in what scenario would a trans person have the genitals of the opposite sex? There’s not a single transwoman out there that came out of his mother’s womb with a vagina. So, you know, I’m just going to keep going with “I’d never date a transwoman.”

I never understood this logic, it's basically the same thing. If I have a "genital preference" I'm automatically excluding trans people from my dating pool.

I suppose some of this mentality stems from the misinformation/willful lie that surgically created genitals are the same as real genitals.

It's a form of gasslighting. It makes you think you're crazy.

That fucking pokemon thing holy shit

Furries and gender woowoo bullshit really are part in parcel arent they

That's not even mentioning the fact they use a childrens video game franchise as what I assume they thought to be a deep and meaningful observation

Also if I recall correctly, no Pokemon changes sex when they evolve. In fact, Pokemon sex is very important to get certain attributes, to allow them to breed, etc.

Pokemon nerd checking in. There is actually one case of a pokemon potentially changing sex when it evolved, but it was a glitch that was eventually rectified. From Bulbapedia-

"Prior to Generation VI, because Azurill's gender ratio does not match that of its evolved forms and its evolution is not dependent on gender, being female 75% of the time while Marill and Azumarill are female-only 50% of the time, one out of three female Azurill evolves into a male Marill (depending on its personality value). Azurill is the only Pokémon to do this. From Generation VI on, Azurill retains its gender upon evolving, despite the gender ratios still differing."

Also some Pokemon lack a gender, but they're usually legendary, immortal, telepathic beings or like a magnet with eyes... so... not very applicable...

Well you know how it goes. Today, gender isn't a big deal, feel free to experiment, it's just like being a Digimon (xenogenders and otherkin are valid!) and it's those awful cis people that take it too seriously. Tomorrow, you have to watch your step and be mindful of gender fee-fees 24/7 because it's serious business and one fuckup can be all it takes to push some poor trans teen into suicide.

I also have a strong feeling that when they say "colorful and interesting people," everyone around them would say "obnoxious tryhard with attachment issues."

I'm almost certain of it.

"People like colorful unusual Pokémon. But not colorful unusual humans." Brb gonna stuff a trans person into a 3 in. diameter sphere and make them participate in dog fights.

Except a Pokémon isn’t trying to fuck you, so that was a stupid comparison. Why do they always make wildly different comparisons to two unrelated things like that??

As somebody further up in the thread mentioned, they're probably actual children who just see the world in terms of things like Pokemon.
