I mean, I concur.

Eventually the penny has to drop that transgenderism has sweet fuck-all to do with LGB issues.

They are, and always have been, the cuckoo in the nest.

(For those who don't know, cuckoos lay their eggs in other birds' nests, and, once hatched, the cuckoo fledglings push the other birds' fledglings out of the nest.)

In this case, I would say the penis needs to drop.

Well, great. If we didn't face hostility from TRAs, some of us wouldn't realize that we need to prioritize our own community, where people actually have things in common (same-sex attraction).

Real talk, how much has this 'purge of transphobes' (read: homosexuals) been actually successful when it comes to real life and not exclusively online spaces? I do see the odd Transwoman in lesbian spaces every now and again (although the last time I was in a lesbian bar was a year and a half ago) but I still believe most lesbian/ gay/ bi people who are very 'anti-terf' online seem to mostly take the 'TRA in the streets, TERF in the sheets' mentality. It's still hypocrtical and somewhat cowardly but still.

I think the public arena is the place to be most concerned about - you may be right that people are TERF in the sheets, and TRA online, but what is really matters to me is what happens in the bars and classrooms and city halls. If people admit to themselves by way of who they end up sleeping with that sex matters, but claim online that TWAW, maybe no one cares. But if they shut down dyke bars, stop students from publishing articles, pass biased legislation, because of what's popular online, then we are in trouble after all. If these things turn around because once it's real people see they don't actually like it, then great, but if the percent of people impacted is tiny compared to the percent of people trying to be woke, you got a problem: basically, feminism and gay rights all over again except this time instead of arguing against the standard male right to authority over social order, it is arguing against the trans woman's right to authority over .. well, basically social order

You actually have lesbian spaces where you live? All of ours closed years ago: no lesbian owned bookstores, coffee shops, or bars. We have a few historic gay bars remaining but they hang trans flags on the doors, I’m not sure if it’s just for show so they don’t get shut down or what. It seems like TQ won in our area and pushed out all the homosexuals from places that used to be for them and now lesbians and gay men have to figure out a secret smoke signal to gather without our gender overlords, because once we create a new thing they want to join in and take over.

Yeah, pretty much this. Where I live at least gay/lesbian bars and clubs are disappearing and being replaced by "inclusive" bars and clubs, which are essentially places made by and for straight people. It's kinda funny because I feel like this crowd wanna be so edgy and break all conventions, but at the same time they wanna sanitize the gay/lesbian sexual experience.

Like every bad Hollywood movie and TV show about us from the 1990s.

I'm based in London, we still have one main lesbian bar, they're super woken on their social media though. There are definitely more gay male centric bars than places for lesbians but even they're on tenterhooks as property developers are always trying to get their claws in the buildings.

Sometimes the trash takes out itself.

Let them go, so that we can finally make our own LGB community with their bless.

I say this should happen!! Eventually actual LGB (not like rAL which we know are actuallyTransbians) will be separated from the cult.

i think the push to purge t*rfs and transphobes/transmisogyists from the wlw community is great, and i’d love to see the same thing happen in the mlm community…… transphobic cis gay and bi men who would never date trans men, but see trans women as “men in women’s clothing”, your time is ticking

I'm shaking in my boots! Oh my!

Being kicked from a community I don't even care for! The horror!

They're powerless, twitter cancel culture is the only weapon they have, so they need to play it up like something people should care about

transphobic cis gay and bi men who would never date trans men, [...] your time is ticking

But no one ever says you need to date transmen!

Also if I can give a bit of advice, keep the number of mentions/reblogs/retweets/etc. in future screenshots. I think it's important to show how popular these opinions often are, because they love saying that we handpick a few irrelevant comments.

It's funny because when a random Grindr user states in his profile that he only wants cis guys, suddenly it's a huge problem and the entire app - no, the entire gay community - is transphobic. But when TRAs with a large follower base say homophobic stuff and get shared by thousands, suddenly it's just some irrelevant fringe opinion.

The only way to achieve this now is banning askgaybros. And banning the biggest community of gay men on Reddit isn’t gonna go down well

I hope it happens, because then it'll mark the end of compacency among the frequenters of AGB

[–]ThrowMeAway2879 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It won't. What will happen at some point is the (single) mod stepping down/being replaced/getting co-moderators who will enforce a "of course no one is forced to date anyone, BUT..."-language policy and AGB will turn into AskGayMen.
