LOUD AND EXHAUSTED SIGH.

Here we go again. I'm surprised that, given everything that's happened, this guy is still on his bullshit. Like I'm not even sure what would drive a person to go this far. Is it about the money? ($10,000 for "damaged feelings and dignity" is insane) But if it was, why throw away literally all your dignity & tarnish your reputation forever for it?

Inb4 "mental illness." I'm mentally ill, I don't do this shit. Most people with mental illnesses don't. This is a whole new level of fuckery and I refuse to believe he's "too sick to know better." I think he's 100% aware of what he's doing, especially since he seems to target women of Asian background specifically.

Yaniv is the poster child of assholes who will take advantage of the trans label to creep on girls and women. He absolutely knows what he’s doing. He’s just the worst.

I think an intense personality disorder and/or paraphilia could cause this sort of behavior. Most people with mental illness don't have either of these. I agree it's trivializing to just brush it off as "mental illness" in general.

It is really weird that he is targeting Asian women specifically... At the end of the day, whatever diagnosis he'd qualify for, his behavior is reprehensible and must be stopped.

edit: typo

My best guess would be histrionic personality disorder. For another high profile recent train wreck that embodies every aspect of histrionic personality disorder, see Joe Exotic from Tiger King.

They are addicted to being the center of attention and demanding that the world stop for them. They have no self-respect and will debase themselves to get attention and also often act sexually inappropriate for attention. Seems like Yaniv to me.

Funny enough this personality disorder is more often associated with women but all three of the armchair diagnoses I have made of HPD have been of men.

" I'm mentally ill, I don't do this shit."

Well, no. Allow me to say that the first sign of a sever mental illness is to deny you have it. It's the whole "if you say you're crazy, that means you're not crazy".

What you have there is a disturb, but nothing comparable to Yaniv, who is GENUINELY crazy.

that's the difference between a mental illness and a personality disorder

...I have had a lifelong series of mental health issues that negatively affect my daily life. This includes severe depression, anxiety/panic issues, emotional disorders and neurological problems. Currently I'm struggling to live a normal life because I can't sleep and my mental health is preventing me from doing simple tasks, like even remembering to clean.

One does not have to be Hollywood-esque batshit delusional crazy to be considered mentally ill.

[–]QueenBread 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I'm going to say something you may or may not like: but every symptom you described is actually what a good 50% of the human population feels. After that, "neurological problem" actually means physical brain damage. Are you sure you have that?

I'm afraid my diagnosis is that you are a perfectly normal person, suffering from the same psychological symptoms of stress that millions of people feel in today's society. I know, it's horrible.

[–]OPPRESSED_REPTILIANIntersex male | GNC | Don't call me "a gay", "twink" or "queen" 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Okay so, 50% of the human population:

  • cannot go to sleep before daylight and wake up after sundown

  • are so depressed they can't keep their living area tidy or even up to a decent standard

  • don't hold a job or hobbies

  • don't have any real life friends or a romantic partner, don't even try

  • suffer with fears, some of which impact daily life and contribute to not being able to work or be productive

  • live without purpose and are intent on killing themselves in an unspecified near future

  • have EXTREME mood swings and emotional outbursts that seem to be uncontrollable

  • are hung up on trauma they never got over, which again, plagues their daily lives.

Because it doesn't seem that way to me. Most people I've ever known seem to get along with their lives okay.

And yes, I am sure of that. I have symptoms that are hard, if not impossible, to mistake, that are tied to neurological problems. They are mostly sensory.

Your armchair diagnosis (as all tend to be) is hilariously inaccurate and, honestly comes across as snobbish and pretentious. There is a lot wrong with me and I don't appreciate being told that I'm "normal" when I've been suffering all my life without any improvement, and seem to be on a continuous downward spiral as years go by. Nobody else in the real world seems to share your opinion, especially when multiple therapists have told me directly that there's nothing they can do because I'm too extreme of a case, and that I was put on drugs as a kid because I was "out of control."

It's more condescending and unhelpful than receiving a generic "you are who you are sweety, love is love! being gay is wonderful!" response when I explain how I hate being gay & that no male has ever treated me like an equal. All it shows is tone deafness and a poor understanding of the concept. It's said not out of niceness, but out of ignorance.

You just have a warped and frankly offensive view of what mental illness is. You seem to think that mental illness is "bad person syndrome" and nothing more. That someone who can type rationally, or do anything other than be a raging narcissistic pervert like Yaniv can't possibly be mentally ill.

[–]maskdebater 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I've never met anyone who was truly uncontrollable except severely autistic people. Maybe you could look into that? There are therapists who specialize in autism. That's not an insult btw. Autism just is what it is, it can't be helped.

Everyone else I've ever seen claim they can't control themselves AT ALL are just making excuses. And how angry you got at being told you aren't mentally ill doesn't seem like someone who has actually given up, which is a good thing. You should want to stand up for yourself, and you do. Clearly you have your sense of dignity, even if you feel like you don't, because when you felt like you weren't being taken seriously, you said something about it.

Yeah, it comes with depression: thinking that everyone has it better than you, and you're the only one who's stressed out or sad.

If you didn't think this way, you wouldn't feel depressed.

I've been trying to offer you some help, as I'm someone who knows what anxiety feels like (I've had panic attacks, and, worst of all, episodes of dissociative disorder). But your anger makes me think you're not THAT bad off, because if you revel in your mental disorder, it means your mental disorder isn't that serious.

Did they tell you what you're an extreme case of? Were you ever given a diagnosis? Or diagnoses?

Nope! Unless "no you don't have (problem I highly suspect I have), you're just lazy and choosing to feel bad" is a diagnosis.

[–]Three_oneFourWanted for thought crimes in countless ideologies 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You're right, there is a large range of mental illness. Which is exactly why it would be ridiculous to assume that every mental illness turns people into.. well.. Yaniv. Your mental illnesses do not compel you to do what Yaniv and other trans identified people are doing, because they all have a specific set of problems that lead to what they're doing.

It is much more appropriate to assume that trans people that keep trying to force others to accept them are like this than to assume that mental illness causes people to be like this.
