I thought they were quite reasonable tbh. Unfortunately police do have to at least ask questions when someone reports something to them, even if it's frivolous. The lass at the end even agrees she thinks its a waste of time.

The cops themselves were quite polite, it's that this is considered a reportable offense at all that is ridiculous. No speech that isn't a direct threat of violence should get someone almost arrested. Especially not over one word.

No they weren’t. If these cops were half as reasonable as a sane person is expected to be, they would not have wasted this man’s time and instead focused on actual crimes.
