”Every hate group, every fascist movement, they all tend to gravitate around a narrative that they have a purpose, and that by doing these things they’re fulfilling this mythical purpose.”

Idk, sounds a whole lot like how the trans community sees itself. The only narrative of droptheT and GC communities is, “please fuck off from LGB and women’s spaces and leave us alone.”

Also, this is petty, but he should have said either “they all gravitate” or “fascist movements tend to gravitate.” Saying “they all tend to gravitate” is wishy-washy and doesn’t actually make sense.

I mean you can't really get anywhere with someone who begins by (a) declaring you a "hate group" (dismissal), and (b) Declaring you irrational (dismissal). By definition nothing you ever say that disagrees with this person will ever matter because you're already presupposed to be emotional, irrational, and wrong.

I think most of us are willing to have discussions with TQ about how their rhetoric and aims are harmful to LGB people and women. Personally, there were ways I was willing to compromise if a dialogue happened. The problem is that they not only refuse to actually talk, but paint us as irrational hate groups while casting themselves as victims.
