It is an extremist ideology, regardless of the word origins. If it was called "Happy Feminism" it'd still be extremism. Doesn't matter what you call it, it's the actions that make it so.

I fail to understand what is extreme about freeing women from patriarchy, sexist stereotypes, and allowing women to be themselves.

It's the belief that all men are inherently evil, all women are brainwashed or evil if they're not radical feminists, all mentally ill people are evil, all women are slaves/victims/brainwashed and the communism that makes it extremist.

Radical feminism is as much of "allowing women to be free from sexism and be themselves" as transgender ideology is "letting people be their true self and be safe." That's the lie they tell people to hide their intent.
