I can't really agree. Maybe it's because of growing up on the internet, or maybe it's because I find it easier to socialize with others on it without limiting my opinions, but I find it far easier to develop quality conversations via the internet. Before the Tinder era, people were successfully getting married through internet dating all the time.

You can meet someone through the internet, but if your entire relationships exists solely within it, it's not a real relationship.
