These things go in cycles. First Digg.com went by the wayside, and so Reddit took over. Now I predict this is Reddit's sunset in favor of another site. Saidit, Voat, or something else.

Reddit was actually a equal competitor with digg even before digg changed. I was around on reddit when the exodus happened and frankly digg users lowered the tone on reddit. Before that reddiquette was followed quite well across the site, moderation was quite hands off. The influx of new users that just didn't give a fuck about reddit's founding principles was the start of its downfall.
