Obviously, yes, women ‘prefer’ the top 10% and I never said that they didn’t, I’m just out here laughing my ass off at how some people in these communities cope with thinking that it’s only the top 10% of men that are having sex. Greybeard did a very solid explanation, couldn’t have said it better myself.

according to what the media say about life in Iran

Yeah, just fucking straight up LOL if you actually believe in ANY source of western media that talks about Iran especially the ones that cover the news like BBC.

That's obviously absurd and I agree that some people in those communities have been affected so deeply that they will say things like that. I would say that the 80/20 rule still applies, like 80 women going after 20 men and a percentage of them settling unenthusiastically for another 20 men, then 20 men being prepared to do anything for the 20 women that remain. That leaves about 40 men, which I think agrees with some statistics that I have seen lately. I would say it agrees with much of what I see around as well.

I have to ask, how is Persepolis (the movie and the graphic novel which were a huge success in the West) viewed in Iran? Was there a point where things suddenly changed compared to what is depicted in the novel, and is the novel even seen as a true representation of the events and the society? You don't have to answer if this might cause you any trouble.

Persepolis

I don’t even know what that is. If it shows a different lifestyle before and after our revolution, then it’s most likely true.

You don't have to answer if this might cause you any trouble.

Why would it cause me any trouble my man? Lmao. Is the movie like heavily political and shit? Usually I try to avoid anything politics related in games and movies as hard as I can, especially in today’s day and age with everything that’s going on so not sure if I’m willing to give it a watch. Nothing wrong with them though.

Orwell said the idea of politics not being involved in any form of art (a novel, movie, painting, etc.) is considered a political opinion itself. Based fucking author, I swear to God, that guy. Highly recommend reading his shit, especially his not so popular ones like A Collection of Essays or A Clergyman’s Daughter if you’re into reading stuff of course.

Yes, the novel (and movie) show the different lifestyle before and after the revolution, and I don't know whether this is a thorny subject in your country. Media present things in a certain light and wouldn't want to get you into any difficult position.

Actually I'm still astonished that women there can freely act slutty. It's a bit difficult to digest after all that is implied or told about the situation there.

I agree that Orwell's not so popular writings are incredibly thought provoking, I haven't read the last title but I have read some of his less known works.

Based then, I might watch it but no promises. Like I said, generally not into political movies especially animated ones.

I don't know whether this is a thorny subject in your country

Eh. My people go ball mode over anything, of course being reminded of a better economy before the revolution is gonna upset them. Don’t really care all that much myself tbh. I just try to Tylerdurdenmaxx and live inside my own fiction land and escape reality as much as possible.

I’m sorry brocel. Like I’ve said it before, westerncels cope with thinking things are different here. They’re not. You’ve said you’re not from US, if you don’t mind me asking, where are you from?

Glad you dig novels brocel! What do you usually read? Right now I’m trying to finish The Catcher in the Rye. Feel free to let me know and I can hit ya up with some solid recommendations if you want.

I am from Greece, where things used to be traditional as well some time ago. Or maybe a long time ago now that I think about it.

I haven't read a lot lately, but I used to read lots of classic works and men's fiction. I would like to read the Sea of Fertility tetralogy at some point. Currently I intend to read Welcome to the NHK.
