Yes, the novel (and movie) show the different lifestyle before and after the revolution, and I don't know whether this is a thorny subject in your country. Media present things in a certain light and wouldn't want to get you into any difficult position.
Actually I'm still astonished that women there can freely act slutty. It's a bit difficult to digest after all that is implied or told about the situation there.
I agree that Orwell's not so popular writings are incredibly thought provoking, I haven't read the last title but I have read some of his less known works.

Based then, I might watch it but no promises. Like I said, generally not into political movies especially animated ones.

Eh. My people go ball mode over anything, of course being reminded of a better economy before the revolution is gonna upset them. Don’t really care all that much myself tbh. I just try to Tylerdurdenmaxx and live inside my own fiction land and escape reality as much as possible.
I’m sorry brocel. Like I’ve said it before, westerncels cope with thinking things are different here. They’re not. You’ve said you’re not from US, if you don’t mind me asking, where are you from?
Glad you dig novels brocel! What do you usually read? Right now I’m trying to finish The Catcher in the Rye. Feel free to let me know and I can hit ya up with some solid recommendations if you want.

I am from Greece, where things used to be traditional as well some time ago. Or maybe a long time ago now that I think about it.
I haven't read a lot lately, but I used to read lots of classic works and men's fiction. I would like to read the Sea of Fertility tetralogy at some point. Currently I intend to read Welcome to the NHK.
