No proof. I see weird posts rising to the top without reason, but that could be via other ways too. Just that this happens more the last month.
I also see more posts from users promoting their site.
On reddit and imgur vote manipulations are pretty standard, so I think that it would help to be prepared. Those posts usually start with a few quick upvotes to push them into rising/popular.
