Thyroid cancer is most common where nuclear power reactors are located. The thyroid gland requires Iodine, a naturally occurring element. Nuclear reactors have a waste: radioactive Iodine 131. The gland soaks up radioactive Iodine 131, if present, which can cause cancer.

What you think you know about nuclear reactors is pure propaganda.

Any iodine would be sealed inside of the fuel plates, where it can't escape without severe damage.

And yet nuclear power plants do fail and leak their radioactive waste. If you need to be convinced of this, look up the Three Mile Island disaster.... Or Chernobyl.... Or Fukushima....
