Totally unsurprising unfortunately. Next they will make a kidney medication to prescribe to treat the side effects of the ACE inhibitors. This drug will have its own side effects, requiring yet more drugs to keep you alive. Hurray for modern medicine.

I'm not shocked but I didn't even know there was a renin cell tbh. The first line treatment for high blood pressure is supposed to be diuretics, but hardly anyone does that because they make you piss a lot, reducing fluid volume and therefore bp. But all that pissing is impractical if you need to leave the house. But now the benefit/risk scenario, as we know it, has changed.
I think there will be a push to actually use diuretics that might actually work bc of the pandemic and remote work.
Probably still be ignored.
