That whole thread. Blegh. These people delight in being utterly divorced from reality.

This is the problem with the internet. It allows them to propagate nonsense with no consequences, and frame any objection as 'hate'. I think they've figured out that a lie repeated enough times becomes perceived as truth, and they're going for broke.

If it makes you feel better, there're some people on that twitter thread mocking that post and pointing out reality to her. I'm very tempted to create a second Twitter account to join the fun.

Gendering animals serves to normalise bioessentialist conceptions of gender. When we gender animals, we forget that sex is assigned. We begin to believe that sex is literally ~in~ the body.

Yes, sex is assigned and the reason why I have a uterus is because the doctor decided that I must be a "birthing person" and not because of chromosomes, biology 101! I should just create a second Twitter account just to have a go at these loons like what the other people on that thread is doing.

Silly TRA, didn't you know "gender is not the same as sex", and you basically said "they're both the same"?

I'm starting to think that basically 90% of the internet is just a parody account. Too many young people think life is ironic these days and are just pushing the envelope online. Then some of them buy into it at least for a while, and join in until they realize it doesn't make sense and just disappear. But it's already been pushed further and there's enough other gullible youngsters to suck in that the swarm keeps moving. At the head the ones in charge know boys aren't girls as well as they know birds aren't robots, but they like to play with the followers, and too many people don't push back but just drop away / get offline, or don't get involved since it isn't affecting them that directly...
