Anyone get annoyed with TIMs and their fixation on representing themselves with cutesy cartoon girls? Almost no real women I know do this.

I just hate it that they give anime as a whole such a bad rep. People hear anime now and they thing weird hentai shit while saying anime is basically like saying movies. Ye there are weird movies and porn movies but most of the movies arent that at all. And it's the same with anime.

Anime has had its bad rep for a while, but it feels like this TRA stuff is making it worse. The ironic thing is plenty of anime are "transphobic" by TRA standards.

After reading this talk, I think I've to watch Sword of the Stranger.

Exactly, there's many different types of anime. My whole family(significant other, brothers, and parents) watch anime in different genres. My dad is in his 70s and he'll watch anime movies from MadHouse(e.g. Sword of the Stranger, Paprika) and Studio Ghibli. My mom mostly watches family friend anime from Studio Ghibli(ex. Spirited Away, Ponyo, etc) and then my youngest brother likes to watch stuff like Bleach or Naruto. Another bro watches Full Metal Alchemist, Dragon Ball series and One Piece, then finally the oldest likes to watch anime that people hardly heard of and gets me good recommendations...which I still need to watch...

I usually keep it to myself that I like anime because I get stupid remarks from people and was bullied as a kid for being a "weirdo who watches anime".

Edit: I mispoke, Sword of the Stranger is by Bones studio whereas Paprika is by Madhouse, I get those studios confused with one another. 😵‍💫 They're both equally good though!!

I've seen sword of the stranger and loved it very much. I made a lot of recommendations to friends to watch anime and most never watch it. It makes me sad i can never share my love for the anime Kekkai Sensen (blood blockade battlefront) with anyone ;(

I just looked that up and --- that's by the same creator of GUNGRAVE and TRIGUN(aka Yashuhiro Nightow)!! I haven't watched Kekkai Sense but now I HAVE to watch it! Gungrave is really good too by the way!

Here's the plot I found online since I'm no good at explaining things lol:

Gungrave opens thirteen years after Brandon Heat is betrayed and killed by his best friend Harry MacDowell. He is reborn through the use of necrolyzation as Beyond The Grave, and begins a quest of revenge against the crime syndicate. The series then backtracks to Brandon's youth, and follows him and Harry as they rise through the criminal underworld, detailing the circumstances that led to their eventual falling-out.

I've heard of Trigun but haven't got into watching it yet, heard it was good.

YES YES it's the same creator!! I was in love with Trigun and the moment i heard another of his manga was being animated i jumped on it. He has such great world building. It's all weird and yet you feel you are in that world because of the details and the humour and character development.

I can't help watching Kekkai Sensen over and over again because it's SO GOOD. It's in my Top 10 must watch anime for anyone who loves awesome action scenes and great comedy!

I'm not sure if it's a style preference of your grammar, but I'm going to put this down in case you weren't aware, "e.g." is what people use. I love "Sword of the Stranger". The fighting and animation, the weapons people used were done very realistically. I love that movie.

Sword of the Stranger is so good, I remember watching it and I loved but that was years ago, then I forgot completely about it! Thanks for reminding me, gotta watch it again when I can. That, Tiger and Bunny and FMA. God, I miss watching anime, I had a huge ass list to "watch later" but later never came lmao.

Oh yeah. I've been seeing people blaming anime here for a while, but anime is just an art form. Do I have to start telling people to watch "Mushishi" and "Usagi Drop" to get them to understand that "anime" (which is japanese for "animation") doesn't just include animated hentai? Kind of think of it, I remember being told that whenever people think "anime" people think "hentai", but that was my asshole brother and he watches porn so I'm assuming that's what he thinks and not a reflection of what most people think (pretty sure most people think "Sailor Moon" or "Naruto").
