So, in the last few days I've agreed with - no, not just agreed with, but cheered on:

Piers Morgan

Rand Paul

Ted Cruz

That crazy congresswoman from Georgia whose throat I wanted to shove a mask down last month.

It's like I'm in the Matrix except the Blue Pill is Rainbow Colored...

I know, right?

And Rod Liddle. And Brendan O Neill. You somehow get the feeling these guys are not concerned overly about women's rights.

I don't know the ones you mentioned, but I think that some conservative men do feel protective about women. They have daughters, mothers, sisters, wives they love and don't want to come to harm.

I see it all the time on US Twitter: while liberal douchbags like Chris Cuomo think that 12-year-old girls need to get over the presence of intact males in their locker rooms, a lot of conservatives will tweet that they will physically defend their girls if need be.

Not to excuse conservatives males/conservatism of having a lot of women-hating policies, just to say that some are genuinely concerned for women's safety, privacy and dignity.

It makes me sad when women are convinced that something like this will make people wake up and turn on men. Women have been suffering from male abuse for centuries to the point of needing spaces free of them in the first place just so they could have a semblance of normal public life, and still people gaslight and insist that men aren't a problem, that misogyny isn't widespread and that bad men are "just a few bad apples". I imagine that trans rights are going to come down to how annoyed straight men are willing to get over being pressured to have sex with other men, and that in turn will come down to how successfully their precious porn manages to sell them the idea of these men as superior women, with better faking, more makeup, more surgeries to reach that twisted beauty standard, more submissive and dick-obsessed. Considering how phallocentric and anal-sex-obsessed most "straight" men are, I imagine the "men are superior women"-idea will win out in the end, and it would hardly be the first time in history that men have jacked each other off to this conclusion.

Yeah, that's not happening. Heterosexual men are definitely not going for that & they know it. Which is why they're targeting lesbians & gay men so hard, unfortunately. Once they attempt, what you just laid out, there will definitely be MAJOR pushback (close to a war, & no I'm not being hyperbolic). I also read that something like 60% of trans identified men are still attracted to women, once they "transition". I didn't know this, but I guess that explains their hard on (pun not intended) for lesbians.

According to a survey released in 2015 by US transgender advocacy group, the National Center for Transgender Equality, 63% (IIRC) of US TiMs are attracted to women in some way. IIRC, 89% of TiMs still had their male genitalia. That survey is still often cited today.

I'm not sure why the need to claim he's owned by the Daily Mail.

Morgan used to be the editor of the Mirror, the UK's biggest Labour supporting newspaper.

While there he was so left wing he published fake picks of British soldiers abusing Iraqis. He got caught and that's why he had to flee to the US and start a career there.

I'm sure now he just writes for whatever paper pays him the most.

I only put Daily Mail because Piers Morgan writes for the Daily Mail now and the Daily Mail is (or recently was) the most visited online news site in the world, so Morgan's piece on the Equality Act would have had a much larger reach, and probably to a different type of readership, than other articles on the Equality Act.

In fairness to him those pics looked very convincing. Plenty of British soldiers did indeed abuse and even murder Iraqi civilians. And you don't have to be left wing to be concerned by that.
