And of all the people to hire him. Why on earth would a Catholic group hire him?!?! I’m sick.

And apparently this organization can't do a simple web search, because there is so much out there about Our Chuckie's written attacks on women, including an article in left wing rag, SALON, IIRC.

Hell, Chuckles even has his own #StopClym*r hashtag on Twitter!

Well, apparently it's not a Catholic group either, in the sense of being acknowledged or recognized by the Catholic church in any way. I'm not sure what the point of calling themselves Catholic is, when it seems like the church isn't going to listen to any of their arguments.

I think their intent is to represent Catholics who disagree with the church’s stance on abortion. I consider myself politically pro-choice, and I know I’m not alone. But most people I’ve seen within the church who would be labeled that way also want a reduction in abortions through other means, like supporting young women economically, universal healthcare, etc.

The tone on the social media from this group is frankly disrespectful. And I’m a bit befuddled that this group is headed up by a lesbian and has a biological man for a comms director. Where are the straight women who are most impacted by the issue? Or any actual catholic people, for that matter?

Yeah, I get that. Just not sure I trust the motives of a group that employs a fake woman and a fake feminist to talk about an issue that's both feminist and affects only women. Catholics who are pro-choice should be able to join any pro-choice group. If they can't(because the group is very anti-religious), then I suppose that's an issue... but joining this group doesn't look very effective either.

And I agree. The whole thing just looks incredibly sketchy.

I find it sketchy in one way, but predictable and fitting in another way. The Catholic Church is an incredibly patriarchal institution with a long history of men telling women what we can and can't do when it comes to our reproductive systems and bodies more generally. So it's not surprising to me that a Catholic group would hire a misogynist man who has a long history of being authoritarian and abusive to women to be its voice on abortion. It's perfectly in keeping with the totally fucked up nature of the Stunning and Brave New World Order of 2021.

Yes, very sketchy. I wonder who funds them.
