I actually can't believe the original is an actual article written by The Post.

"She wanted to dye her room from pink to blue"

"She hated her long hair"

"She couldn't stand wearing skirts every day"

HOW DO THEY NOT SEE IT'S ALL GENDER STEREOTYPES? Do they see it and still go along with it over fear of not being woke? Has no one in that girl's life uttered the sentence "Liking the color blue and disliking wearing dresses does not make you any less of a girl"?

I can't see the WaPo article coz I'm a former subscriber (and erstwhile employee of the WaPo company under Katherine Graham) who cancelled a couple of years ago coz it's become a total rag - and as a result, I am no blocked from seeing any stories without coughing up moolah for a new subscription. Did the WaPo really say

"She wanted to dye her room from pink to blue"?

How does one dye a room?

"Change the paint/color scheme of her room" I can understand.

But "dye her room"?

What gets me is how damn angry they get when you point out how damn sexist this is. Pink is completely forced on girls, and it is way worse now then when I" was younger...plenty of girls don't like skirts and short hair has nothing to do with gender.

that article's so sad. Another person who felt they had to conform to societal expectations. I find it interesting that the article's complaining about how no one ever writes back after hearing that she transitioned, when the entire reason why she was famous/noteworthy was because she was bucking societal expectations in being a girl who liked science. Also she's apparently dating another TIF.
